Education-Scholarship & Nutrition

Children, youth, and women are the target groups of special importance for PDA, provided scholarships for needy children in rural and urban areas from kindergarten to undergraduate level. From 1994-2015 9,000 scholarships were provided. PDA also established the ‘Mechai Bamboo School’ in Lam Plai Mat District, Buriram Province in order to provide educational opportunities to children in rural areas and to be a lifelong learning and community development center.

Young people aged 14-24 years are encouraged to learn about local government in the form of village youth administration organizations as leaders in the development of their communities by providing training and  knowledge, supporting teamwork, scholarships and vocational training for youth. PDA also established more than a hundred toy libraries with more than 100,000 toys for children. In addition, women are encouraged to take an active role in improving the quality of their lives, their families and communities in terms of occupation, additional income for their families, health and environment.
